I wanted to wait quite some time to see how this mattress would hold up before reviewing.What I was originally looking for was a coil mattress to replace my 9 y.o old pillow top, thinking I could buy a topper and be able to flip/turn it to prolong it's lifespan. I was not aware that"hybrid"mattresses existed until then.About me: sadly an overweight female, post menopausal, post chemotherapy joint pain, hot in the summer, cold in Wisconsin winter, mostly a back sleeper, occasional side sleeper. Share my bed with with a Wire Haired Pointing Griffon and two Rottweilers.Other reviews state packaging/weight, which was helpful since I live alone. It is VERY heavy and bulky. I have a platform frame, no box spring. It opened up quickly with no funky chemical smell.I had purchased a three inch memory foam topper after reading the reviews, worried about pressure point pain. Topper was NOT needed!!! It was too soft, causing back pain. Once I ditched the topper, it was perfect for me. Firm support, with just enough cushioning. The memory foam topper also created too much heat. Not a problem without it.Miscellaneous pros:No motion transfer from my large dogs.Sheets fit really well, no need for deep pockets. Heavier weight keeps deeper pocket sheets in place.No signs of wear/dipping from my larger frame. (I have turned it twice).Although it is heavy, it is very flexible for tucking the sheets in.Absolutely LOVE this mattress and highly recommend!!!
